We are a UK based company that specialises in the exportation of UK products to Africa. However, in a recent trip to Africa; we came across a community of women with the intricate talent of hand weavering these amazing baskets. We immediately fell in love with these humble group of women and in even deeper love with the products their were making. We were instantly consumed by their craft and personas and felt compelled to do something to promote and expose their talent, thus the birth of our subsidiary Shop Africart. Now what about these hampers? These extraordinarily Beautiful, Vibrantly Colourful and Sophisticatedly Woven baskets, will add colour and life to any home. These baskets have been handcrafted by Artisans in a remote West African village. It is a testament to human endeavour, talent and creativity that a select group of enlightened mothers can produce such unique African Antiquities from such poor and deprived surroundings. Each basket is unique, their character stemming from imagination and therefore no two baskets are alike. The dried grass emanates a sweet aroma that brings the scent to accompany the aesthetic beauty of the piece. We strive to both promote the unique works of these women whilst also improving their financial status by ensuring they are monetarily rewarded, so rest assured that whilst you are purchasing a piece of art, you are also uplifting a community, strengthening the matriarchy and restoring dignity through independence. Each basket takes hours to craft through matriculate design and sheer persistence. We aim to bring the continent closer to you and leave a little piece of Africa in your home. These pieces are the result of centuries of innovation in sync with natural resources coupled with contemporary materials to update the look and modernise it whilst remaining true to its roots.
The basic idea is that of an auction site with a twist. The twist being that the consumer/buyer is not competing to be the highest bidder rather they are competing to be the first bidder to beat the products reflected price, thus the consumer/buyer is competing against time, as the very first bid over the reflected price wins! Let’s give an example:
Le Cruisant Kettle RRP £59.99
Beat our price £27.99
Your Price ???????
Remember: Beat our price & it’s yours!
It’s that simple and everyone can be a winner and you definitely will be with B.Y.P!
